What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a dermal filler that adds fullness under the skin which can soften wrinkles and restore facial volume. The product has been used since 1999, so it has been proven safe and effective in both clinical studies and practical patient experiences.

How Does Sculptra work?
The Sculptra formulation contains poly-L-lactic acid, a substance that has been used in surgical sutures and other medical applications for more than two decades. It is a synthetic form of a chemical that is released by your muscles when you exercise. The presence of poly-L-lactic acid triggers an inflammatory response in the skin, and your body responds by producing more collagen. It is the collagen that softens wrinkles and adds volume to the skin. Over time, the poly-L-lactic acid is naturally absorbed and eliminated by the body, leaving behind a new collagen structure.
What to Expect from Sculptra®
Sculptra is an injectable treatment, and our nurse will make several injections in the treatment area. If you are uncomfortable with needles, we can apply a topical numbing agent. After the injections, the nurse gently massages the area to distribute the Sculptra gel.
You will see an immediate change in your appearance due to the water in the formula. This subsides after two to three days. After a few weeks or months, the new collagen will be established enough for you to see the anti-aging benefits. The results may last up to two years.
